Took out the car for a ride just out of storage and picked up a rider (screw) in the left rear Goodyear GSC 285-40. Can't find a replacement and the tire guy said to put on Goodrich G Force T/A KDWs on the rear.So are they ok with Goodyear GSC on the front? Anybody looking for a Goodyear GSC right rear with 10/32nds tread on it?

Can't you just get the tire plugged and drive it? Just so long as you dont do anything to excess, should be no problem.

No just high enough on the sidewall to be unrepairable. Ask 2 shops.

Sounds like you'll have to buy a couple of tires. Not good but what else can you do?

You might want to try a pair of the new GY F1 D3 tires. They are the latest from GY and the replacement for the GSC. So, maybe they will balance with the GSC's better. Only one way to find out.

Good luck

The tire dealers always tell you that if the pucture is near the sidewall. I use a product called "Safety Seal." There are a couple of tools that you use and there is no cement that is used with it, only a silicone lubricant so that you can get it in place. The heat from the tire flexing will vulcanize this and make it part of the tire. It seals the belt so that it doesn't rust.

I have used several hundred of these over the years and quite a number at the edge of the belt. I have NEVER had any problems at all.

I get a hundred of them and they last me a long time, so it's been awhile since I bought any. I don't remember, but I know that you can search Safety Seal and find a source to buy seals or a whole kit online.

Good luck,

Just a thought, do your tires have road hazard coverage?

No Do they offer it on this type of tire?
