HELP: Wheel size info - 79 L-82

What other years can I pull wheels off of and put on my 79. When I bought my car the original wheels were missing and what I have on there now are mismatched. I think I remember reading I could put wheels from up to 88 but I wanted confirmation on this.

How wide of a tire can I go inside of the stock body panels?

I have 215/70/15's up front that rub.
I have 255/60/15's in the back that look a little scrawny.

Your wheels are 15x8". Could use any C3 wheel. The C4's use a very different offset so to use them would require spacers.

The stock tires for '79 were P225/70R15. I am running 245/60R15's on my 73 with out any problems.

My "75 has stock 15x8 rallys and I have 225/70R15's (original equip. size) with plenty of room. I have been told I can go up to 255/60R15's without any trouble & plan on doing that this spring.
