I'm installing a new wiring harness in my 67. I'm doing the conections around the voltage regulator and there is a capacitor attached to the regulator that looked pretty bad so I thought I would take it off and steel wool it a little to get the rust off. Well of course when I was working on it the lead came off in my hand.

I know the car is full of capacitors for noise reduction, but this one was actually pluged into the bottom of the regulator. What I want to know is if I don't use it will I burn something up? Don't care about the radio noise at this point. Can I run the car?

Anybody know?

For judging, super-glue the lead back into the end of the capacitor; otherwise, just remove it and don't worry about it - you'll never notice the difference in the radio. :)

Sounds like a plan to me........................Thanks
