I know this is a bit high for a 93 Ruby coupe auto trans , 20K , but the car is very clean and in very good shape. Only 15K original miles and he is the second owner. He has all original dockuments and papers from the original owner. He started at 24.5 K and I offered 20K. I was concerned with the tires only 15 K miles but no signs of any dry rot or cracking. Underside is spotless and the engine compartment is clean. Inside , no tears or wear on the seats or rugs.. Been garage kept. What do you think ? Still waiting for the person to buy my 88. I have the VIN and hopefully someone can run it for me. Does anyone have the Ruby web site Thanks

Go to the Auto trader to find comp. cars and you will find a close match... but all in all it is what makes you happy... I feel that 20k is rather high for that model Coupe...
If it were a convertible , that would be a different story....

good luck in your dealings
Mike

You can also check www.rogerscorvettecenter.com. If they have a Ruby, it will be priced at the top of the range and be in terrific shape. See how Roger's compares and never pay more for a car than a similar one at Roger's.

OK, he has three Ruby's 2 at 27.9 K and 21.9K

HPG,

I found that pricing is dependent upon location ... different areas command higher prices .... and yours sounds alittle high.

The super low miles is a good/bad thing ... there is various schools of though on that .... the car hasn't been "worked out" enough if it has too low of miles .... personally I'd prefer alittle MORE miles ... but not over 50k .... but who really knows.

The 11 year old tire situation might be problematic also in that high speeds are tough on an old tire .... Alot of tecnical inspectors (at rallye races) disqualify entry if tires are over five years. If you plan on hitting the triple digets now and then the tires would certainly be a weak spot.

If the car is what you want and the options are there (FX3, CD player, etc) your after the keep negotiating .... but it will be hard to find comparables unless the "other" cars are apples to apples.

Having a Ruby is pretty kewl because most other vette owners know what you got with out even seeing the car ... just today a fine young blonde (girl!!) in a torch red Z06 flipped me the "four fingers up, zero sign, then thumbs up" .... it sorta hits the heart! .... and beats the single diget!

Keep negotiating!

I went to AutoTrader.com and found 6 cars just like you discribed...the most expensive one had 6700 miles on it and they were asking $24500...the cheap one that is comprable to the one your looking at was selling for $18,500...everyone that has one of this age must look at replacing all the rubber products...tires, hoses, belts and don't forget the flex hoses on the brake lines..
I hope this helps

Well, like my '93 it's 11 year old--yeah, it's got low miles, but what problems lie ahead because of that. Garage kept or not, the tires have to go. In what condition are the hoses, battery, fluids? Ok. We know it's not a ZR-1. But, it is the true 40th Anniversary Edition as opposed to say, my Med. Quasar Blue Metallic-a '93 with 40th stitched in the headrests.
In 1993-- 15,898 coupes were produced out of 21,590 Vettes. Of those coupes, 6,749 are Ruby Red. Now you have to start adjusting your offering price according to the options missing in the car (if any). Sport seats or base seats? Adjustible passenger seat? FX3 adjustable suspension. Bose CD/cassette and AM/FM or not or something (yikes!) aftermarket? Everything in the car working? --courtesy lights, horn, cruise control, wipers, rear view and vanity mirror lights, turn signal lever, tilt steering wheel, etc. Are all the little things in the car---ash tray, can caddy liner, tray in rear compartment?
It pretty much boils down to how much you want this Vette.

"Of those coupes, 6,749 are Ruby Red. "

Actually Vee, I think the 6700 is the TOTAL of '93's with the Z25 package ... with about 1500 of those being convertible and about 500 ZRs .... leaving 4700 "basic" ruby coupes.

As a side note, I saw a '93 "Anniversary Edition" (painted Ruby Red) listed on eBay a few weeks ago .... but it had black interior .... and the Texas Car Salesman was really pushing the "Anniversary" concept. The car was obviously repainted to Ruby Red but the seller never brought that up.

He was semanticly correct in calling it a "anniversary edition" but his implications (of it being a Z25) seemed unethical. Let the buyer beware.
