help...trying to remove inside door panel to make adjustments so it hangs correctly, can't remove it due to door handle and light assembly...what am I missing?

thanks

I read somewhere that there is a screw hidden behind the manual door lock slide, maby a search for door panel removal will help:beer

The courtesy light has to be removed (pry it out gently with a small flat tip). You also have to pry out the manual door lock knob/slide/button (whatever you want to call it).

There is one screw behind the door lock, and IIRC, there may be one or two behind the courtesy light.

Try This

Hope it went O.K. If you are still having problems, do a search on replacing the outer window seals. This should lead you to a magazine article that gives a detailed procedure for removing the door panels.:)

The manual door lock slide it pushed onto a small wire and there is very little clearance to see it. The wire following the slide back into the door and is bent 90 degrees and sticks into the slide and the thickest part.

If this manual slide has not been removed recently, it will not want to slide off the wire.

I found that if I bent another hard wire to make a little tool and used that to fit between the slide and the wire. Then working the 'tool' forward between the slide and the wire, the wire would finally pop out of the slide allowing its removed.

Once removed, the hidden screw is pretty obvious.
