What's up with the headlight doors on my 90 coupe? They were working just fine until tonight. I got home and when I turned off the lights the doors didn't close. When I went out to the car later they had closed but they wouldn't open again. The lights work but the doors won't open. I had to open them manually. Aren't the motors independent? In other words, if one motor went bad wouldn't the other one still work? What would cause them both to stop working at the same time? Is there a relay or a fuse somewhere that goes bad?

Welcome to the world of flaky headlight doors. You're problem will or has happened to all of us with headlight doors. There is a set ot three tubular nylon bushings in each mechanism that act as a clutch and these deteriorate over time and while the motors turn the headlights don't follow along. The parts cost less than $10 for each lamp. Check the forum search and you'll find lotsa write-ups on how to do the repair. I won't appempt the write-up it's already been done with pics and all, but I did it myself two years ago it took me three hours for the first one to figure out what to do, and 1/2 hour for the second. I'd rate it as a three-beer project. The parts can be bought from MAD.

Awwww that's just sweet. It's just your vette's way of telling you she feels ignored. If she's feeling really *****y ignored she'll just refuse to start up. You'll be paying her lotsa attention while you're walking.
