I removed my in tank pump for an external mounted one today since I carbed my car and now the fuel gauge doesnt work any ideas??;shrug
 
Pull the sending unit back out and check the wiring. Especially the ground.

You could have kept the stock pump and run a bypass regulator in the engine bay to drop the pressure down to suit carb ; you already had the return line back to tank ;shrug

Yeah thats the first way I set it up Racetronix pump in the tank was still making to much pressure the Mallory regulator couldnt get it down below 9 PSI so I decided to switch to another pump now I am at 6.5 PSI and still using the regulator and the return line and the car isnt flooding out.:beer
