Does anyone know of a way to add a manual switch to turn on the highspeed fans. This would be useful at the track if you want to cool the engine down fast. Is this easy to do?

Hi there,
It really depends on how good your are with wiring.
Basically, you will wire in a ground source for the relays that control the high speed fans.
This is how the PCM controls the fans.
If you chose to do this, let us know, and we can proceed.
Just a sidebar, there are companies that use fan controller logic, however, I personally dont use them,.

Thanks, Im interested... Let me know how to do it if it is not to much trouble.. Thanks again youve always been a great help.

HI there,
If you reference the diagram, you will see the dark blue wire, which is your high speed ground source to the PCM. This is pin 28 on the blue connector.
If you tap into that wire, and then wire to a switch, then to ground. There in will be your high speeds.

c4c5,

Please help me with detailed instrucitons on how to add a manual switch to manually turn on the cooling fans in my 2004 Z06. I had a $13.00 manual switch installed on my 1994 coupe and it worked great!!

I have seen some very expensive auto sensing switches for the C5, approx $200.00, but I would just as soon have a very inexpensive, manual switch installed so that I can manuall turn on the cooling fans when I am at autocross events.

Thanks.
