I spent 4 hours today trying to get the lower radiator hose hooked up the the engine block. With my hands tore up and bleeding I gave up and came in to watch football, anybody have any hints/tips for putting this SOB in place ?
thanx in advance for all your guys help

I don't know how the 84 is set up but on my 90 I had the belt tensioner off.

Same with mine. After it was off I had no problems changing the rad hose.

I spent 3 hours on my 73 and have no belt tensioner...it was a bit**

yup, ya gotta 'clear the road' first.

a thin coat of vaseline on the pump snout and inside the hose end makes easier to get on and allows better seating of hose when clamp is tightened (dont worry-won't harm hose unless you have real rubber 'antique' hose)

Thanx for the advice, took the tensioner off and things went pretty well after that. another bit of info for the cheat sheet. thanx again, Gordon
