Pitman’s Pat Patterson became a “Corvette Person” after wanting one for “most of my adult life.”
It didn’t help that his brother had bought one (a ’69) in the ’70s. It’s modified a good bit, and he passed it on to his son five years ago.
“This is the fourth summer for my car,” Patterson notes. “Four years ago, I found myself in a position to finally buy a Corvette for myself, and I couldn’t wait to snap one up.” Luckily for him, he had a friend in Frank Stech, owner/collector/Corvette expert.
“Frank counseled me to be patient and to wait for the right car for the money: a C-5 (1998 - 2004), desired for their mechanical soundness and modern electronics.”
