Found that the error code I have is pointing to the Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2. Okay, which one is 1, the one closest to the engine or the one after the pre-cat?

Also, which brand to go with? So far have only found Bosch to be available. Is this something that I should stay with GM for?

And I guess you have to drop the exhaust system down to get to these things???

Thanks for all the help.

I suggest pulling your spark plugs to check to make sure everything looks ok with them... if you are running rich (or have a mis-fire for some reason), you will just throw money away by putting a new o2 in.

I don't remember which one is which, I *think* the number 1 is before, 2 is after the cats.

I also *think* bosch makes the factory o2's, but don't quote me on that... someone else will chime in to confirm or debunk me:)

I got my 02 sensor my LT1 through GMpartsdirect.com for $40 with shipping. All in all a pretty cheap fix. Not sure about the sensor number though.

Bank 1 is driver. Bank 2 is passenger.
Bank n/1 is forward of cat. Bank n/2 is rearward of cat.

Thanks for the info. My books told me it was the passenger side and I just assumed that #1 was before the pre-cat.

I have sent an email to gmpartsdirect.com for the part number. Have purchased parts from them quite often in the past.

Now, anyone have experience on replacing the O2 sensor? I made one attempt at taking it out.....could not even get a wrench on the sensor. Looks to me tht either I need a short stubby 7/8" open-end wrench OR I get to disconnect the exhaust at the manifolds and lower the entire exhaust system a couple of inches. Tell me there is an easier way...please!!!

(Be sides taking it to a shop and have done)!!

No experience there. The sensor I changed was on bank 1 and was fairly straight forward.

Bank 1 pertains to the side of cylinder 1 and bank 2 is the side where cylinder is. I made the mistake thinking bank 1 was always the passenger side and installed my new 02 sensor on the wrong side in my Ford F-150. Damn Fords are all backwards. :)

Nice pictures......the crowfoot looking one would probably work to get the HO2 sensor out, but still need to get my hand in there to pull the connector. Wonder if I can borrow a five-year old somewhere in the neighborhood!!!

What code & when are you getting????

I might have had the same problem & new sensors were not the answer for me.....

I am not where I can get the code but it was something like high output on a front O2 sensor........usually occurs about 2-3 miles down the road, while cruising, after a cold/cool start

I pulled the code and it was a P152 which is just like you said, high voltage from O2 sensor. The Check Engine light came on after sitting all day and then after 3-4 minutes of engine running; stayed on the entire time. I made one stop for about 20 minutes but the light came right back on upon starting.

I have since cleared the code, but have not started it as I have pulled all the spark plugs out and will be replacing them this weekend.

I do not want to hear that replacing the HO2 sensor is not going to fix this Check Engine light......AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

Yep, that is it..........same deal.......comes on after 5 or so minutes.....will eventually go off after a few starts and/or running time or if you reset.....car runs normal except for the code??????????

Sensors didn't fix mine........maybe someone else has had this code????????

I installed new plugs and so far the Check Engine lite did not come back on...and least not yet.

Stay tuned.
