holley carb information for a 1966

Again I am looking for part information for my car.Now it has a holley carb on it I am told it is a holley replacement NOT the original gm one that came with the car.It a direct replacement from holley but it is missing the gm part numbers.So its the correct carb except it dosent have gm oem numbers

No place can I find what the correct part number is supposed to be,I allready have read my judging manual and understand the date coding aspect of it but does anybody know what the correct gm part number is supposed to be ?

Also anybody have an earley 66 that they could take a picture of there carb air horn with the correct part numbers look like so I can start looking for one in the swap meets?

Larry, The one pictured is much too late for your car. if I remember correctly you car was built sept 29 65 so you would need a carb dated like: 582, 591 ect but no later then 594. D.

I replaced my holley on my 66 327/350 with a holley replacement and the numbers matched up with the old one witch has been on the car snice it was new

If time is valuable to you, forget the swap meets, unless you are talking about Carlisle. My advice is to get the exact numbers you need and call Chicago Corvette. They have hundreds of Holley carbs in stock that need rebuilding.

First consult the '66 NCRS Judging Manual, under Big Block carbs, that will tell you exactly what numbers you need, based on your build date. Then call CC and talk to the carb department, telling them exactly what you want and with a date of at least a month prior to the car build date. Tell them you don't want a carb with mixed and matched parts, it must be all original and a candidate for a NCRS Flite Car. Beware, they probably have carbs off of Impala's and Camaro's, so you don't want one of those.

If you're going to Carlisle, chances are they can have the carb you want there and you then can inspect it before you buy. If it's OK, then get it and have it rebuilt to NCRS specs, but don't let them rebuild it for you.
