Any tips-- I have a Holley 650 cfm spreadbore (QJet replacement with original intake) carb on my 350/350 SB. Last weekend I used my "bolt thru a spark plug" tool to find true TDC, made a new timing mark, and set the timing for 4 advance. Now that it's timed ok, I want to get it to start better. Currently when I start the car I need to keep pumping the throttle and after maybe 5 seconds it starts. I usually have to keep giving it a little gas for another 5 seconds to keep it running. After that it runs great on low idle at 750 rpm. If I turn the car off and try to start it again, I have to go through the same procedure. You would think after the engine was running, it would start right up without giving it any gas. I am going to get a book on Holley carbs, but if this condition sounds familiar I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
