new here and already have learned alot and enjoying it here.
my ? is about the holley 52mm tb for a 87 l98,i am interested in getting one for my car.i like it better than the bbk because of it being billet instead of cast.but i see that they only have them listed for 92' and up vette.they do however list them for older tpi camaro's.what is the diff?can i use the one for a camaro or one from a newer c4?i have the 4+3,if that makes any diff!
THANKS!

Welcome to CAC
there is no difference between a camaro TB and a corvette TB however
there are two major differences between the early and late throttle bodys.
1 throttle and kickdown cable attachment are different.
2 the idle passages are different
both can be worked around. the cables can be switched and I think the late TB will work on an early plenum without any changes, but to use a early TB on a late plenum you have to drill a 1/2 hole for the Idle mixture below and between the 2 throttle holes
where the triangular hole is on the early plenum
I am running a 58mm Holley early style TB on mine you should be able to use a early camaro TB on yours assuming you have the origional MAF system
BTW the Holley is great.

if the holley tb from a tpi camaro is the same as the one on my 87 vette, why do they only list these tb for the camaro's?i just want to be sure it will bolt rite up and the linkage is the same.my car does have the original maf system.
If this is a match and will work on my car, anyone know the best place to get one? Thanks again!

Went to summit and they do sell the holley but they to only have it listed for a 85-88 camaro and not the corvette.i called them and the guy just directed me to call holley.there must be some kind of diff between the camaro tpi and the corvette for them not to have the listing.does anyone know what it is?im thinking it has to do with the linkage but i dunno.
Do you guys that have exp with these tb think they are better than the edl/bbk's?
BTW,i would just call holley but it is sunday night and they are not open plus i know you guys have knowledge on these things whether it be knowing if they just bolt up or if not,how to make them work.THANKS AGAIN!

I have a BBK 52mm and am happy with it AND the support I got from them. Holley made my Lingenfelter SR manifold and the quality sucks.

FWIW

Just got off the phone with holley and they said there is prob a linkage issue with the tb that is listed for a 85-88 camaro 350tpi.they did not know what the diff with the linkege was though.they really did not help any.
So,is there anybody out there that has actually bolted one of these holley tb on there 85-88 corvette that can tell me what i have to do to get it to work?
Thanks guys for all your help so far.

Thanks boss vet,by the looks of those pics on that site,it seems that the tb for a 85-88 camaro will bolt up with no prob with linkage to a 87-88 vette.the 85-86 vette's seem to be diff.so i guess im good to go,we will find out!

I have 4 stock throttlebodys 2 Corvette and 2 Camaro and the difference is in between early and late not so much as Corvette/Camaro. The major difference between Corvette and Camaro is the fuel rails.
keep us posted on your progress
