Found out they are not that hard to find, via google. Have another question anyone know how to attach the fastners to the hood, some kind of glue? How many fastners are used?

Hood insulation?
You can find it from any Corvette parts supplier.
Ecklers, Mid America..etc..
It attaches with clips.
There should be some (eight) protruding clips from your hood. You put the insulation up on top of the clips, push the clips thru the insulation, and attach a retaining clip to hold it in place.
The insulation was about $40. The retainers were $1 each, I think...
You can also buy the clips from Ecklers.
Check out their web page. www.ecklers.com

Also, I'd advise against glue. How would you ever get it off if you needed to?
The clips hold everything just fine.

There are no clips on hood, I looked at web page which has clips looks like they screw into hood which makes more than a bit nervous. The blankets come in 2 halfs would you say 8 per side or 4?
thanks for the help appreciate it.

I believe the insulation is only there for sound control, not heat.
I know my Vette didn't have any insulation for many years before I decided to put some on.

No clips on your hood? Hmm... Mine were always there.
I don't know if the clips screw into the hood or not. If it were me, I would GLUE the clips onto the hood. Not screw.

The insulation I purchased from Ecklers was a one-piece, already cut-to-fit.
It's much different from your 68.

I can't help you there..

Hi, looking at the underhood blankets in Paragon Reproduction's catalog, they show one for the 69 big block(no 68). It looks very small and only uses 3 retainers. They have a complete kit that includes the 3 retainers and the "studs" that glue to the underside of the hood. You glue the studs to the hood, and like ArkShark said, push the insulation up into the studs, and push on the retainers. I know a friend's 76 used a much bigger blanket than my 79.

Yes, I found one for a 69 Shark also. I guess the hood is pretty much the same. I'd kinda like to find a heat shield thing instead of sound insulation. The underside of the hood wasn't prepped well as someone suggestion as it's bubbleing. I guess they just removed the clips when they repainted....
