I am having problems. I got the whole front end back on. And every thing looked perfect. Until I put the hood on......it lines up every where perfect, except for the very front of the lip. The hood is sticking up about 1/2 inches to high. The hood is not the stock hood, it is an older Eckler item that takes the Windshield Wiper door out...... So is there and adjustment that I am missing ??

the previous owner of mine had a bolt jammed between the fiberglass and the metal on the nose. it may be back there depending how it looks when i re-assemble.mike

I also have an alignment problem, only mine is good except for where the fender area is next to the hood and there the hood is 3/8 inch too low. I don't have a clue how to shim things to make it line up in that curved area. Somebody out there must have the answers to our questions.

I had the same problem - center of hood sags from fender. I used two alignments bumpers to raise hood to fender height. Got them from Ecklers - Pt# 43758 ($4.99 ea).

Jerry, do you mean you put something on the inside lip of the fender that bends the hood so it lines up with the fender when you close it? Won't that crack the hood?

They haven't yet. The blocks do fit inside the hood and the hood bows over the block. If it raises the hood too high, you can shave them down to the right height.

Hood alignment

My problem on my 69 SB is that I replaced the radiator support and now the front of my hood sticks up a little from the nose. I wonder if the new support is a little taller than the old one and now the hood is flexing on the support when I close it. I don't see any easy adjustments to increase the distance between the support and the hood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hood hinge attaches to the rad support area with two bolts; if you shim only under the rearward bolt on each side, it will move the hinge's pivot point downward, which will bring the front edge of the hood down.
