Well, took the vette out and made a trip to Atlanta. On the way back, I wanted to check the oil, etc...so I pulled the hood release. Sitting in the car, the left side releases but now the right side will not. Is there an easy way to get this thing open without it taking an act of God....?:r

Tifton,

Check out this past Thread there a couple of idea's to try.

Good luck ;)

Believe it or not mine sometimes wont release when the motor is hot. Dont ask me why but it has happened two or three times. I let it sit for a half hr or so and it's ok. I know the metal can't expand from engine heat at least not from underhood heat. Maybe it's the metal cable that operates the release that expands ,,, I dunno but try it cool. There is a way to sneak in a rod open it but I don't know how to do it. Some one here I'm sure does.

Got it....

Thanks Rare81.....I just came back in and check for replies. I was able to reach in on the drivers side and grab the cable. I pulled on it and it opened. The cable is kinda long and on the passenger side, the retainer clip broke. So that's the problem. I just repaired the horn button today. Fix one thing and here comes another one. I guess I will need to order another one. The length of this cable looks really too long.....any idea on exactly how long it should be?

Thanks
