Hood Release

Hood release cable came off in my hand. I know there was a post for a '63 but what would be the procedure for getting the hood open on a '66 coupe and reattaching the cable? Thanks.

Remove the driver's side splash panel from underneath and go up in there with a broomstick and trip the lever that sticks down from the driver's side hood latch - it moves rearward to release, and will release the passenger side latch at the same time.

Johns tip works great, if you are doing it on the ground (like I did last year) its had to get a broom stick up there, I used a putter.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will take it over to the Vette guy and have him put it on a lift and then I can release it. Should be easier than crawling underneath with athletic or cleaning equipment .
