Hood support - which style is correct?

I have researched many restoration manuals to find out which hood support is correct for the '70 Vette and getting mixed results. Now, I'm asking the membership's opinion. Is it the style with the release button with the rail slide configuration or the "Lift and Pivot" style.

Everyone's input is appreciated.

I'd call it a "lift and pull" Laguna.

Two unequal arms, joined at a central hinged point. When extended, the longer arm locks into the smaller arm.
