LS1,LS6, or Carberated EFI?

I am looking at going with either a LS1 or a LS6 engines or the same/ similar set up 69myway has. How hard would it be (or would it be even possible) to hook up hooker sidepipes to those engines? Also Would I be able to install turbos on the engine if i had the side pipes installed? Yes, no, maybe... it would be hard to say the least. I would have to have someone cut into the exhaust right after it comes off the headers but is it feasably possible? And if i am correct a supercharger shouldn't matter whether sidepipes are installed or not Since it would run off the belts. Whats The Pros And Cons?

The Hooker sidepipes are 1 7/8ths inch diameter tube. I would think that you could find a welder to make a set of 1 3/4 inch header pipes about 3 inches long and then graft them to cut off Hookers. You'd have a set of torque step sidepipes!

The LSx engines are not dimensionally identical to a small-block. They require pretty extensive modifications to fit. And Hooker sidepipes won't "bolt on," since they have a different exhaust pattern. You'd have to have headers custom-made.

The Hooker-style sidepipes use long-tube headers that don't join the collector until after they pass under the frame rail, so there is no place for a turbo, since the turbo needs to be after the collector.

You could have custom headers made to connect to the turbo, inside the engine compartment, then route the exhaust (in a single pipe) out under the frame rail, like the OEM sidepipes did. But if you are using a "large" exhaust, ground clearance becomes a possible issue.

A supercharger would eliminate those problems, as you noted, because it would not interact with the exhaust.

the new C-5s have a Transaxle type setup (the trans is mounted at the rear) there is an iron version of lhe LS engine in trucks, but I dont know if the bell housing bolt pattern is the same. I have heard of early Vettes with C-5 powertrains, but I think they were a complete frame swap. Big block headers would get you closer to the exhaust openings but you could try Stahl or Sanderson for a custom set, nothing is imposible with enough time and money.
