Hooker Sidepipes and angle plug heads

Has anyone installed the Hooker sidepipe headers on a small block with angle plug heads? Hooker says that they are not for angle plug heads, but I've stared at the pic's of the headers and it looks like they'll work.

I have a 327 with edelbrock aluminum straight plug heads and the hooker headers. A couple of the plugs are tight for clearance. I doubt the angle plugs would help that situation at all. Classic
