I want to take the horn button off of my 75 so that I can repaint it and the sleeve behind the steering wheel. When I try and pull up on it the horn blows. I don't want to force it and break something. Does it just pull off or do I have to do something else before I pull or pry it?:confused

Thanks,

Andy

I can't tell you for sure about your 75, but my 80 did the same thing. When I pulled on it, the horn blew and it didn't seem to wan to come off. I just pulled a little harder and it popped off. It's just held on by metal clips. They may be a little corroded and stuck. But, like I said, that was on my 80.

I have a 75 and mine just pops off with a little pull. While you have if off clean up the metal rings in there as they rust. They seem to rust up over the years and will loose contact at some point and your horn won't work.

Ok, thanks. I will try it tomorrow.

if you remove the fuse the horn won't blow annoyingly..
