Hot air through vent ?!

I have just fitted a new A/C in my '82 - the only thing that was there was the electrical and vents!! - and the a/c works great, but when i turn it off, i seem to get HOT air flowing through the vents after running the car for a while... no clue what to do...

help appreciated.
