Title says it all, I want to replace my center front console and radio Bezel on a scale of 1 to 5 how difficult is the swap out ? Thank you ! :w

I've not done the front part, but you have to take the lower part out first and it wasn't bad. I think, like any job, take it easy and it can be done without too much hassle. Might be a good time to document the process and post a procedure.:w

It's only a one (1) on the Bigjim scale... You start at the back and work forward from the VERY back of the console. Everything interlocks... Very easy, the only issue can be getting the radio surround to completely re-seat during re-assembly. ;)

If it can be done, you've done it. Well I've already have done the rear portion, like Foggy said it's just the 10mm nuts, and I moved it just backward a few inches, and I'll try to loosen the front shortly, I'll have to figure out how to swap the shifter boot. (Is there anything special I need to know about removing the knob (Automatic trans) and then the boot) Then I need to reinstall the boot onto the refinished front console (what holds the front console on ?) and then it looks like I'm home free. Foggy47, what is the story about adjusting the revel with the front console to the dash ? Thank you guys ! :w

Explain revel?

Revel ?

Explain revel?

The space between the front console and the fixed dash. It is very tight and I need to reinstall it so it is as it is now, tight mating spacing. :eyerole

Can anyone give me guidance on removing the interior piece UNDER the steering wheel? I see the 2 screws underneath, but I cant seem to figure out how else its attached. It seems that maybe the center console has to be removed also? I cant seem to find any diagrams or info on this anywhere, to include googling. I'm lost and extremely frustrated with it. Any pointers would be appreciated

I have one more question, how do I undo the automatic shift boot and install on the new front console ? How does the gear shift indicator come off and how's it put back on ? I'm re-using the same shift boot I have ? Thank you ! :w

There is a picture of the console removed & the automatic shifter still installed, so it MAY be able to stay in place. I have a stick so I really have no experience taking apart an automatic.

:)

Ok, and thank you Froggy47. I think once I have it completely loose it'll show me where and the how of swapping the boot over to the new console. But thank you anyway. Your one of the people who make this site so good ! :w
