Hi Gang!

I'm just about finished up with the replacement of the heater core (:hb) and I'm almost ready to refill the system. Does my '87 have bleeder screws, how many, and where are they located? Thanks!!!

Heater core? You can do mine next:chuckle Only kidding:) Did one on a 79 Coupe once, it's a chore but doable.............Not aware of any bleeders, I elevated the front end on my 88 Coupe when I flushed/refilled the cooling sys., if there are bleeders, I'm sure/hope someone will chime in...........I just burped the upper rad. hose...................:thumb

On the lower part of the radiator, there is a petcock that you unscrew to drain the radiator. Just refill with water, run it through the system again, drain and repeat until you get a good deal of the old coolant out.

Use distilled water in your 50/50 coolant/water mix. Then burp the system.

Thanks!

Thanks guys...I just knew there'd be no time savers for me! Just my luck! Oh well, what's another hour or two under the hood? At least everything else is working as advertised (loudly knocking on wood / head). Actually the dashpad actually fits better now. Let the cool weather begin!

It's quite easy to do, shouldn't take you more than 1 hour.

Fill system with water , make sure heater is on , start engine , top up as air displaced.
Then ( helps to have 2nd person ) , build some revs on the engine , the water level in the radiator will drop.Pour as much as you can get in and put the cap on fast.
Go for a drive to get to op temp and then check when cold.Make sure overflow bottle is at correct level so doesn't suck air back in.
