How do I put on a front plate?

At corvetteforum.com they said there are two torx screws on the bottom of the filler plate on my 86. I see nothing but this hole...

How the hell do I pop this filler out and put on my plate?

The screws are at the bottom of the filler plate. Look in between the bottom edge of the filler and the front of the bumper. You'll need a thin screwdriver to get at them.

Why are you putting the front plate? Did you get a ticket? A vett with front plates looks... I got a "fix" ticket, put the plate, a cop signed the ticket, went home and took it out.

I've been pulled over for it TWICE already, and I got a 25 dollar ticket for it.

Yeah we had a field trip today to Chicago for some play since I am in tech theatre. I didn't know it was a law either until I started looking at all the cars. I hope Indiana never gets that stupid law.

Hi Ken,

From the picture the paint on your car looks great. Is that original or has it been repainted? I'm looking for ideas because mine is going to have to get new paint someday.

Thanks. It's actually almost a ten-year old paint job; when we repainted it after the crash in '96 we took out some of the heavier metalflake and leaned more towards the Porsche silver, which is a brighter silver with the metallic somewhat muted.

In retrospect, I wish we would have added more metalflake to the black in the stripes. Heavy metal is coming back a little at a time.
