How Do I Remove Rear License Plate Frame

Ok, ok-you're going to laugh at this one: My friend (01 C5) and I (02 Z06) cannot figure out how to remove the stock rear license plate frame

Please help. Thanks.

On the left and right insides of the frame, you will notice two notches in the frame. These provide access to the release tabs that hold the frame to the car. Use a flat screw driver and push the release tabs outboard. Use just enough force so that you can pull the frame out as the tabs release. 4 little pushes and twists with the screw driver and the frame should be off and in your hand.

I was out in the garage trying to figure out how to get the rear license plate frame off, didn't quite see the trick, and was feeling completely stupid :confused . I didn't want to break anything, and thought I'd have to humble myself and make a stop at the dealership (couldn't find anything in the owners manual). In short, thank you for the post.
