You are gonna need a longer plate!
:L Either that or get two and place them one above the other. The top would say: Z OUGHT and the lower would be: SIX. Hmm, think I'll stick with what I have. :D

Or have one of those long plates from Europe and hang it on the front of the car!!!! LOL

You say to-mayt-"oh", I say tom-"ought"-o.

The better question to ask is what do the folks standing on the side of the road as we cruise past, or the people in their mini-vans as we fly by them, say?

LOL!! That's good. I guess we look at it in the sense that it is a numerical value, like the year, 04 or last year, 03. We pronounce those as OH three and OH four so why not OH six? :m

None of the above

Oh, ok. Hey wait, that's your screen ID - you wouldn't be a little biased would ya? HA! Thanks for adding that, it's one I wouldn't have thought up. :beer

I can't even take credit. One of my British co-workers saw the car in the lot and exclaimed, "That's a beautiful Zed Naught Six". I cracked up when he said it, and I adopted the name right after that. Gotta love the Brits.

Is it properly pronounced "Zee Oh-six" or "Zee Ought-six"?

Thanks....
Hi ArkShark -

this is how I pronounce it...lol

This is also how Dave Hill and the engineers at GM , who bestowed this designation on the package, pronounce it.

Game, set and match.

Cool mqqn! That looks like a 1:18th. Here's mine in 1:24th scale.

Hi Z_OH_6 -

NICE! That is a nicer model than my Maisto - looks like a Franklin or Danbury.

Good job on the plate.

I have pics posted of some models I have done - I modify and detail the 1:18 scale cars.

Wow, great job! I don't have the talent any more to build models or modify diecasts but you sure do. And good call on the 1:24th, it's a Franklin Mint. I have every 'mint' 1:24th scale Corvette ever made; Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint. More have been added but I haven't taken photos yet.

FM's latest is the '04 Commemorative Edition. And Danbury's is the '64 coupe

Nice die cast photos guys!

You should post some pics over in the Diecast and Collectibles corner to share the wealth :D
Shout if you want me to split the thread out over there (assuming I could figure out how).

Can any of you model builder fellows make me a 2001 C5 Coupe in Navy Blue Metallic? I will gladly pay you for the model, all supplies and your time. I know they are not cheap so I would rather pay someone to help me rather than spend money and time doing it three times (and still having it come out crappy).

Hi Tammy -

I have already posted links to the pictures for the diecast group - but it would be fine with e if you were to split this topic.

Two train pics coming - in the off topic forum.

Hi Z_OH_6 -

Awesome collection there, guy!

I really was impressed with the Danbury and Franklin cars - a friend at work is a voracious die-cast collector of the high end models such as yours.

At work we have a large display cabinet where employees play "show and tell" by displaying collections in it for a few weeks at a time. My buddy brought in 40 or so of his models - I specifically asked for vettes...he obliged to a great degree! Cameras are not allowed in my building, so I could not get pics.

thanks for the pics of yours!

best regards -

Thank you sir! Franklin Mint has no new toolings in the pipeline. They are basically doing nothing right now except repaints of older technology and issuing them in limited edition numbers. Danbury's product in the precision 1:24th arena is absolutely outstanding. They have just started attacking the subject of Corvettes and their pipeline, as it were, is reflective of some dynamite images.
