Im kinda concerned about the temp of my 2000 coupe. Today idiling in traffic it reached 230 degrees with the air off. I havent noticet it get above 200 before and today is not as hot as it has been. I pulled over and let her idle and the fans would come on at 230 bout they didnt seem to be moving a whole lot of air. When you turn on the ac the fans kick on high/ Is this normal temps for the c5?

My '99 FHC seems to run about 220 a majority of the time. I'm in southern New Mexico so I expected it to run fairly hot and from what I've read 220 is typical for cars in my area.

I have been considering changing to a 160 degree thermostat, does anyone know if this messes with the computer at all? The dealer service rep I spoke with frowned on the idea of changing the thermostat.

I've only had my 2000 vert a few months but I have noticed a big difference when running the air on very hot days. 230+ and one time up to 250... I was going into panic overdrive. That was a 108 degree day in the valley on hot surface streets. Since then I have been running without air and rarely get above 200.

I have had a 160 in for a long time and there is no problms with the tuning. It rarely sees over 210 even when it's 105+ outside.

My '01 runs 196 during driving periods. Sitting at a light or in traffic in the summer makes her see about 220+. This weekend at the beach I was in traffic for hours along the strip and she rose to around 230. Vettes run hot so I'm sure it's designed to withstand those temps.

My max temp has been 220 with the air on in light traffic in NE 90 degree temps. Oil temp max... 209 degrees and the vette has been running like a top. Max speed attained to date 137 MPH with just over 2,300 miles on her so far.:Steer

I had an LS1 Edit done about a month ago.

Aside from very good RWHP and RWT gains and CAGs disabled, the tuner set my fan to come on at 196 degrees so that is the hottest my car will run.

On hot days in the summer here in southern California, 100+, my Vette has gotten to 220+ at idle with the air on. When I drive again the temp drops. You can check the DIC for the temp reading as well. The gauge usually shows higher than what the temp really is.
