How many lbs of boost?

Hi everyone,

I do not currently own a Callaway (I hope to soon) and I was wondering what these cars run for turbo boost. I have spent a great deal of time around Cummins diesels and have seen anywhere from 16 to 90 psi of boost on these trucks. I know that gas engines run lower boost #'s than diesels but I was wondering just how much difference there is.

I guess I am comparing apples to oranges but I am curious how much difference there is.

Best regards,
Kurt.

Thanks for the reply Surf,

I was also wondering if you guys see a increase of boost when the engine is upgraded from stock, and if so how much?

Thanks,
Kurt.

I think the stock b2k comes with 10psi. Upgrading to the second design wonderbar granted you 12.3lbs with out doing anything else. Most B2k owners have adjusted their wastegates to make the car produce about 12.3-12.5psi. Then there are those of us who run better fuel and can hit 13+ psi. Im not sure Ive seen anyone that runs over 14psi.

:eek not a good idea :eek

Surf, did you put a regular boost guage on yours during the dyno runs?? What boost level were you at?? Were you holding?

No we just used the in dash one. It did hold around 56-58" on initial acceleration it might go around 58 or so and then settle in on 56.

Im sure my car either needs stronger springs, if it doesn't have them, or it needs a bigger wastegate. The consistency of where it climbs then levels off isn't the greatest. If it were up to me, Id want it to hit max boost and not budge an inch, so to speak.
