My headers keep frying starters. I'm looking at getting a mini starter for more space for heat sheilds and just room between starter and header. The ads always say the number of teeth on the flywheel the starter fits. Thanks and God bless, Sensei

Sensei,

My specification's pamphlet states 168 teeth for the Auto-equipped L81 flywheel and 153 teeth for the manual version. The starter pinion has 9.

Gerry is correct. Heres a link to a online spec. manual for all 68-82 Vette parts and diagrams that helps sometimes.

TJay,

Thanks for the link, I spent over 1/2 hour there and printed a few pages along the way. :upthumbs I wonder if the owner would mind if the L81VetteRegistry referenced to it on our website??

Bud your welcome, hope you find parts of it useful. As far as a reference to L81VetteRegistry, I really can't say. But I have read the user agreement and it seems ok as long as you don't modify it. I guess my question would be the bandwidth issue.

I have CD disc manuals for all my Vette's, but I bought them on e-bay. Maybe I could upload mine, just not sure what permission I'd need from CAC, or if it can be done since it's a PDF file.
