Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

How many ways are there to say...

Bob........remember when Lou brought up waving the starter flag for a big block vs small block race at the Cruise Fest. Got me to wondering about our cars. Some questions for ya:

What size rear tires do you have on her?

Have you weighed her?

Have you dyno'd her? Curious as to your torque curve vs my "race motor"

Are you gonna run her at the track at Cruise Fest?

Just wondering out loud :D

For those who may be teetering on the edge of a decision about registering for CruiseFest (or not), y'all come and see. :D

Hmmm, this I gotta see! ;LOL and, just when I thought they had nixxed the idea of the burnouts at Carlisle..........

Bob, glad you are following the break-in procedure carefully. I think the directions say to only use 300 of the 502 cu.in. for the first 500 miles......:D

I guess I'd better bring my mud tires. ;)

Yes. Z28Canuck and I spent some time with a sliderule and calculated that just below 2/3 throttle equals 300 cu.in. Then, I placed an appropriately-sized wood block below the accelerator............still scared myself. :D

That does sound safer than the egg I used.......besides it's a mess when you just can't control yourself........:L

Rich,

Speaking of eggs, I took my painter for a short blast last evening. I think he laid an egg.......at least he was clucking like it. :upthumbs

There was a sudden red blur and a roar of sound out in Durham the other day as I was toolin around. It was either you or the new airport is a go five years early.........and I was on the runway.......
Congrats 67HEAVEN on a most impressive project and a superb result!

A few more comments from today's short driving adventure.

1. I've been reading threads about how the ricers and Mustangs are making many Corvette owners crazy with their swooping in for a race and fly-bys. So far, the only reaction I'm getting is a combination of curiosity and fear. You know, that deer-in-the-headlights look. Ain't nobody swooping........ ;LOL

2. I dropped by the local Sunoco for a 94-Octane fill-up around 4:30 this afternoon. There were at least another 10 cars at the pumps, or waiting in line. Now I know how Halle Berry feels walking into a room full of deprived men. The funniest reactions were from the very-married men filling up their minivans. :eek Do they love me or do they hate me? :D

3. After filling her up, I stepped inside and fired her up. Heart attacks all round. Poof, and I'm gone :w Who was that masked man? ;LOL

This much fun shouldn't be legal.

Yeah I get that too.. when I go to the local fill em up. This is a Gulf Gas station with 10 pumps and the only one in the ares close by for the whole township.

When I rumble in for gas ..I get the looks... I fuel up as quick as possable and get the hell out of their. If not.... I get the 20 question routine.. and the rev em up's from the resident riser croud that hangs out their.

But after they hear the side pipes at start up .....they put there ears down and tail between their legs...:L

Really Fast ?

When Kevin gave me the test drive experience in the C5, I called it "Wide Monkey F#cking Open"..
Honestly, I could not think of any other phrase that covered it! haha ;LOL

think others refer to it as "WOT"

btw, Car is looking GREAT!
