Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

How much should I ask for my Corvette? Going to sell it locally or ebay.

Karl,

Are you in the city or in a suburb?

nah, not giving up. The car runs fine, except for torque converter problem. It has a fastchip in the car now and runs very strong.

But im in the mood for another car, especially a 6 speed. I have not driven the car in about 8 months. its just sitting on jack stands under the car cover.

right on. understandable. i know what you mean about a 6 speed. i'm trying to see if my finances will allow me to keep my 87 and buy the 96 i am purchasing soon.

well I unplugged the connector to the transmission from the computer (on the driver side) and the same thing happened. Put the car in drive with the brakes on and the tires still spin, same in reverse. Put on the emergency brake, put the car in drive and it almost stalled, put the car in reverse and it stalled. When the car is off the jackstands it will stall when put in reverse or drive.

So its either the torque converter or something else in the transmission. When I put it in reverse there was a obvious "thud" and then it stalled.

:(

TNT unplugging the solenod sometimes will not release it. You should be able to use a scan tool to see if the solenoid is stuck on. At this point I do not know what to tell you to try. You can either try and have the solenoid fixed and see if it works or sell the car as is at a reduced price. Please keep us posted.

well the transmission is definetly shot. I recently unplugged the wireharness to the driver side of the trans and the same thing happens...wheels keep spinning while in drive w/brake on and car stalls when put in reverse. So today I plugged the wire connector back up and fire up the car to let it run for ~20 minutes. Same thing happens but now when I put the car in neutral the wheels keep spinning!!!!!!!!! Its frickin amazing...if I apply the brake then it will stop but the rpms will not fluctuate. Also when I put the car in park I heard something rotate and then sorta "clank"....i noticed that when I put the car in park the rear wheels turned (when I lifted off the brake)....so the tranny is definetly shot.
