I backed my beautiful 2000 off a curb and broke a piece of the body just in front of the pass rear wheel about 1' x 1'. Not having had this problem before can this normally be repaired?

I've been there with that, thru my door open into a tree.Broke off the edge of the door near top.How stupid. The local Chev dealers body shop did a great repair. fiberglass in the hands of a pro is no big deal, very costly thou. I'am sure you'll find a professional shop in your area.

:( Flags at half mass. Get it fixed, and forget about it.

You aren't stupid.

You didn't do it on purpose.

Don't worry about it!

Take some pics if you can and post them!

Everyone has done something stupid at one time or another, don't beat yourself up about it, sometimes it just happens.
My 78 had a small piece missing similar to yours at the bottom of the door. We had it repaired when we repainted the entire car, so I don't know what it would cost to do a spot-fix, but I am sure that any reputable, fiberglass familiar shop can repair it.

Whatever you do, don't show him my "Wooden Chair" thread!!!!

Last summer my Z was about a week old, I was in a hurry and couldn't wait for a truck to make a turn, so I past him on the right just grazing my right rear rim on a granite curb. When I arrived at my destination I got out of the car to check the damage, and the wind grabbed my driver's door out of my hand and hyperextended it open, cracking the fiberglass above the hinge on the inside of the door. Two screw-ups on my ZO6 in five minutes. I might as well have turned right around and gone straight home. I brought the rim down to a guy that was recommended by my dealer and he had the rim fixed that day for $75.00. You cannot notice it at all thank god. For the door, I have not brought it in to get fixed, even though from outside the car there is no visible damage. I know it is there is enough for me. You bet I hold the doors firm now when exiting. Chaulk it up to bad experience, $HIT happens. So don't feel bad Davide, it happens to the best of us.

;LOL Speaking of stupid things we do... ;) :D

Hey Blackvette, I want to see the wooden chair thread. Do I have to do a search for wooden chair, or are you going to just post it here? lol!

Look at it this way, there is a silver lining in every cloud. The lining to this one is that’s the area you would need to cut out anyway to install the Z06 rear brake ducts. So instead of a costly repair job, you have an opportunity for a cool custom that you otherwise could have rationalized, but never justified. :w

Impressed with this forum

I read your "stupid" post. Not much I can tell you since I am a new C3 owner. But, I am impressed with this forum. I am a member of this and Corvette Forum. Although CV seems to be more active and a lot larger, there tends to be some premadonnas on there that dont miss a chance to make you sound, feel, or look stupid. People on here seem to be a little more down to earth and "HUMAN". I like them both, and both have a lot of good info, but this one seems to be a little more user friendly.

Just my nickel's worth, which aint worth one red cent :D

Welcome to the C.A.C. Captras, we are very friendly here, and thanks for the kind words. :D
