My 94 vert (auto) does that also, after having driving over 500 km at 110 (km/h;)) it did 27,7 MPG or 0,85l/10km.
However these figures are for steady speed, with 2.59 Rear Axle Ratio.

23 city 28 hwy

1993 auto 55-60 mph hwy in o/d with cruise 27.5mpg
city driving 22-24mpg:beer

How thirsty?

Insure that several items are done. Correct air pressure for tires, engine is tuned for maximum performance and try to keep the gas pedal off the floor. Drive with fuel economy in mind and enjoy your Corvette.

35,000mi. Hi-performance rear with auto trans

Avg. 25.5 to 26.0 mpg in interstate Summer driving.Just found out I was getting this good mileage with a coil wire that was barely making connection with the Opti due to corrosion. After fix should be even better.

My 1996 LT1 is getting 20mpg 50/50 city highway on regular gas. It does OK, but how are some of you saying 23 for city?

That's even less than my Volvo S60 :D (2L turbo inline5)
Not bad for a powerful v8 :pat. But there aren't any highways were i live. Only curves and hills, and bumby roads. I'll see, when i get my vette on the road, if it make the same numbers. Thanks for your replies:). I thought the vette didn't use much fuel, which is great when the fuel price is 1.5$ pr Liter ;squint:

You think the 3.07 gearing will hurt my fuel economy that much?

I get about 15-16 city, and have yet to do true highway driving.

I tried driving it like a grandma and still got 20mpgs. Even regular driving I baby the car!

I can squeeze 32-34 mpg out of my 95 auto on the highway but it ain't easy :) My highway/city average is about 26 mpg which also isn't easy.
as comparison, when I let my wife drive the car she only averages about 21 mpg on her city/higway mileage.
It's all how you drive. I I had a manual I'm certain I could get 40+ mpg on the highway...but I'm mpg obsessed.

Check out the "Econo Run" results from Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend at Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend 2007 - just click the "EconoRun" link then the 2008 Results link.

You'll see results in the mid-30 MPG for C4 Auto winners.

The Econo Run is about 100 miles long through the towns and country roads around Eureka Springs, Ark so it's mix of city and 2-lane country roads driving. Of course this involves a lot of coasting and other high mileage techniques. Some take this a little more seriously than others.

My wife and I did the Econo Run with our '92 back in 99 and got 33.2 MPG on our first try but our '92 was a manual - this was before the LT4 conversion.
