*Hope these pics work*

Well they weren't as bald as I thought, but they are pretty bad.

What they looked like before:

What they looked like after:

Why they look like that:

What's the moral of the story? Don't buy Dunlops unless it sits in the garage all the time.

sweet movie

but what do you expect from a 30 second burnout from street low profile radials? these tires that we have on our cars aren't made for high heat long burnout kind of stuff. looks like you were doing a burnout contest. if you were dragracing i would say only do your burnout for 5-10 seconds just enough to put heat in them.

you see how slick and greasy they got? this happens to all these tires from dragracing if you do long burnouts and you don't have to do them for 30 seconds i'm talking 10-15 seconds of high rpm burnouts. afterwards they become hard and greasy even with tread left on them.

Nitto's or BFG drag radials would of been the same way IMO.

What is that cord that the guy is hanging into that goes into the car?

Mike, I take it you never heard of this guy? :L He likes to do that, just like Lou but even more so. :upthumbs

I think he knows as soon as the white smoke starts to come off them, they are as hot as they are going to get. And I'm sure he knows that this doesn't make them last any longer.

He also doesn't have to pay for undercoating. ;)

That's kinda strange and funny at the same time that some one does not know who Mojo is...

Yo, what's up frank.

AKA ConeKLR here.

Hehe, the reason I say don't buy Dunlop is because I did the same thing a year earlier with Michelin Pilots and still managed to get an additional 16,000 miles out of them and they still have some life left in them. I have the Michelins on my '93 now.

The string the kid was holding was to let me know when the time was up. When he pulled it, I took off.

dead tires

Have a set that are trash. Did a low-speed that I turned into a high speed with street tires on the 74. That darn stop box was just not long enough! I have two flat spots on each tire. I go de bumpity, bump bump down the road now. (lol)

Oh, Mad Mic, I've never raced at Delmarva, my house was literally a stones throw from there on county road 493, but I've sold that place.

I have an annual trip to the Old Mill Crab House and one of these times, I'm going to see if I can rent the track. We usually do Go Karts in Rehoboth, but I'd rather drag race.

heya mojo,

if you want to rent a track, i know it might be alittle far but i'm good friends with the owners of capital raceway here on the western shore.

sounds like alot of fun keep me in mind when you get the ball rolling!

surf....

sand.......

and DRAGRACING!!!!!!!

WooT!!!

that sure will destroy tires!

I do not do burnouts on street tires, nor heat them up before making a 1/4 mile blast. I just avoid the water box and lower the air pressure for some good 1.8 - 1.9 60' tims.

Mojo

Guys!! Mojo's a celebrity on the Vette forums!! His car kicks ass, and he's got some great stuff out there!!

Doug

Jeebus! That was a long a$$ burnout!
