How to know which specific parts I have

I was just thinking, how do I know if my Corvette, for instance, has the M21 option or not (because I think that was an option, right? And I don't know if the original owner ordered this option or not). There is stuff I would like to know like whether or not I have a 3.66:1 ratio or if it's the base ratio (3.08:1??).

Same thing with other parts. How exactly do you find out what parts are in and under your Corvette? Thanks!!

You need to locate the build sheet. It is normally on top of the gas tank and a bear to get to with the tank in the car.

Yes, I remember hearing about the build sheet on the gas tank. Maybe on a fine summer day when I have nothing to do and work on with the Vette I'll try to get at it. But until then, I'll try to be content.

TR, your car came originally with the M20 and a 3.36:1 axle; the M21 was only available with the L-82, and there were no optional axle ratios with a 4-speed L-48.
