OK I normally don't drive the vette if it's going to poor down, but the wife's 300 m is in the body shop due to a wreck. So the other day coming home in the rain the ABS and Traction control lights came on.Had a code for lost comm with ABS. After drying out all is fine. It's a 97 and I'll bet money a lot of connectors need cleaning and a little extra protection from water. What about computer behind wheel well ??? I've got the service manual and can't find the right section or spot to even find all of the darn computers on this thing. So HELP !!!!

Well, first things first. most likely you should pull the codes to see if you can narrow down where the problem is. However most of the connectors are weather packs and should not leak. so I'd look for cuts in the wires or connectors probably on the wheel speed sensors at each wheel. now to waterproof connections dielectric grease will do it.

as to the Pcm it's behind the right front wheel. jack it up take off the wheel and there is a close out panel with about six or seven screws and one plastic push clip. (just had mine out this morning) behind that panel is the PCM and TAC module there is a weather strip on the close out however mine wasn't wide enough or in the right position. so after i replaced the panel I sealed the top with black silicone calk. BTW mine wasn't too messy.

HI there,
Yes, your ABS is behind your rear axle, mounted to the subframe.
However, there are a few things that should be considered.
What codes was exactly displayed??
When and how often does this occur??
If you spray the rear ABS module with water from a garden hose, does it happen again???
The ABS module is sealed against all road water and debris. Unless someone was in there and didnt take care with the connector that is there, it will hold up fine to water being sprayed on it.
You could also pack the connection with some dielectric grease to assist in connection integrity.
