If you were selling your midyear, how would you go to sell for the most $$$ w/ the least hassle? Ebay, NCRS ads, Barrett-Jackson Auction, or local.

It doesn't seem like there is such a thing as local anymore since even the local newspapers can be searched on line. I know for sure that I would want to keep control of the sale, so I would probably establish what a dealer would ask for it and try to get the same amount privately. I've not used ebay myself but it sounds like after the bid is won the negotiating just begins. This is too important to take my advice so lets see what more experienced people have to say. Please consider this less than $.02.
The main reason I weighed in is if it is a 67 BB you're talking about, I have a friend who wants one. I'm sure he wants a nice one and if he finds it he will be able to afford it. If this helps you that's fine. If not he doesn't know it even exists.

Thanks

Mike

The Car Trader is a good approach. Local and online... Dave..

Best bang for the buck is ebay,Very far reaching, set your reserve for what you want for the car.

Give an honest description of the car detailing every thing you know.Go thru some add know and you will see all the fluff in the advertizement explain youll be the king of the car cruises, chick magnet and such,I would never buy a car like that but the advertizements with all meat and potatoes in it and more picture then you can look at help people make a dicision .

If I ever sold any of my cars it certainly would be on ebay,

B-J may actually be a long shot since they only accept a small percentage of cars for auction that people try to get in their sales.

I found my car by a listing on Collectorcartraderonline.com.
What's nice about that is that people can search the entire country or as local as they want by putting in their ZIP code and a milage range they are willing to travel to look.

NCRS ads may be nice also as you are usually dealing with a more knowlegable buyer generally and usually more current on the true value of the car rather than some Joe Schmoe trying to buy the car for half what it's worth - or wanting to trade his two sea-doo's he no longer wants for your car - and wasting your time.
On the other hand, if you list in NCRS ads, you better not overstate the condition or misrepresent the car as I'm sure those interested parties will catch you in it same as the beeter educated vette buyers here on the forum would :D

Hey, you can also put up a thread here on CAC in the C1/C2 For Sale section - you might get lucky and it won't cost you anything to try

Thanks for all your suggestions. MAGOO- Interestingly, I bought the car up your way from County Corvette a couple of years ago. The previous owner had the car restored at County Corvette, detailed the underbody for show and then got an itch for a fulie which he is having restored at County. The car is pretty close to perfect with matching numbers and tank sticker. It's got the 427/390 and has factory side pipes, P/W, P/B and Blue leather. I'm looking for $80K which is about what I paid for it. If your friend is interested, send me your E-mail and I will foward some pics.

Getting a car in to BJ is not that difficult. Check their website, they offer chances to list in auctions as well as on their website for sale. The difficulty is getting on BJ in a TV spot.

Ebay is the best bang for your buck followed by autotrader then wither of the forums.

Good luck
