Hurst Shifter Z06

I installed a Hurst shifter on my 2001 Z06. My issue is it rattles something awlful in third gear. So far Hurst, and the Dealer/Installer have been any help. I put a Hurst Shifter on my 2000 C5, 6 speed and it had just a slight rattle but nothing like my Z06. Anyone have any advice? Ted

HI there,
This is something that will always happen.
There is nothing that can be done about it.
Based on vibration from the different engine and transmission, you will always have vibration to a larger extent on Z vs you other c5.
When you change the shifter, you remove the stock silicone impregnated handle, which dampens vibration.

Got the same issue with my Hurst shifter and I did expect that to be the case...

It is not a problem...

On CorvetteForum (am I allowed to say that here) someone put half a tennis ball over a Hurst shifter and said it effectively dampened most of the vibrations. He was also using an MGW pistol grip shift knob. His was on a non-Z06. Maybe the B&M Ripper is quieter.
