Installed Hurst short throw shifter in car yesterday, It is the BOMB! after 5 hours of install time it's in and car is 3/4 back together. I say 3/4 because I did break one exhaust bolt off that I have to fix now. It is a pretty easy install after exhaust is off. I did come across an easier way to install it if anyone else plans on putting one in.

Instead of taking the front of the boot off, it would be easier to disconnect the rear brace, pull boot down and forward and disconnect the trans linkage at the rear rather than the front. The hardest part of the install (besides dropping exhaust) was installing the pin in the front of linkage. If you disconnect the rear, there is no need to take pin out. The rear is held on with a clip, very easy to take off and put back on.

Awesome bang for the buck

I love my short shifter.

I had a lift at my disposal so it went really well.

I had some problems getting the shifter together on the bench, but it was not that bad.

Follow the directions and you'll be set.

The pin went in fine for me. The key to that was to send a drive through first to get a good line up and pu the pin in. Then bash the **** out of it with a drive. Went right in.
