I have my motor apart and I'm inspecting all the components for wear. When I check out my old lifters, should I be able to compress them? I don't plan on using them, I'm just curious since they don't seem to compress.

if they are full of oil it take a lot of pressure to "bleed them down" that is why i post never fill hyd lifter with oil before you install them as you will have trouble setting the "preload" because the pushrod seat will not move down

Motorman,

Thanks for the quick reply and great advise. Now it's back to putting this back together.
