I'm considering the Hypertech Thermo Master Power Chip Stage II for my 1990 Coupe from Central Corvette. I already have a 160* thermostat and the 185*fan relay kit in it as well as a very recent complete engine overhaul with new forged rotating assembly. Block and heads were all thoroughly redone by machine shop. Induction system is basically stock. Trans., shafts, brakes, lines and front end also redone. She runs strong but I would like a little more umph.

Any Pros or Cons on this performance chip? What gains can I anticipate? Any better viable suggestions?

Thanks, Don.

If the engine has stock cam, heads and intake system, there will be no significant gain in performance by going to an aftermarket calibration. Typically, chips like that, when run with lower ECT, will be more aggressive with spark timing. In some cases that can result in a measurable–and perhaps even noticeable–improvement, but certainly not a big change.

Thanks for the input.:beer
