Kinda surprisd that it gets worse mileage than the regular C8. Maybe because of wider tires/wheels and body?

Or, as you say, the weight (248lbs) of the battery and motors?
Wider tires and wider body contribute to the drag sure but it's probably the charging drag needed to keep the battery charged, and the extra weight (about 400 pounds).
We took the Eray on a 6-day road trip this past week (mostly freeways) and I noted that when I was cruising around 70 MPH, the MPG average was 25.5 or better. When the speed limits allowed 75-80 MPH, the MPG dropped into the low 24 MPG range. The Eray is a performance hybrid not and economy hybrid.
Besides, it still gets better MPG that my CTS-V Wagon (21MPG).
