You guys, I really hexed myself making that damn nightmare thread! Well, I just was punished for this. Yep, was in a car accident tonight with the Z06. I don't know what to do here. A car smacked into my left front quarter panel. It looks more scratched then dented but the seam area is uneven somewhat. Is this part going to have to be replaced? I have pics for you to look at. Go ahead and laugh, I deserve it! This really sucks!!!!!! Go to my site and look on the right hand side. You will see my Z06 with my parrot and close up shots of the damage. Click on each picture for a larger view. If someone can perhaps bring that picture here so others can see the damage that would be great. Tell me how bad this is and if it can be fixed easily and how much do you think it will cost. See the pics at:

it could be worse...you could have no front end! It's fixable, jsut be glad it wasn't worse.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! But the fact is that I really put my foot in my mouth and this is gonna be a real pain in the arse!!!!!!

I am such an idiot!

Cheer up bro. More importantly I'm glad you did not get hurt. Z can be fixed and replaced daily, you can't.

If you click on the thumbnails they get bigger!

Bummer!!!

Sorry to see that, but it doesn't look too serious. I'd get a few estimates from reputable places that can show you references in their ability to do fiberglass work and matching paint. On another note, kewl bird, I've got a South American Conure:beer

Thanks for the kind words!

I will tell my bird that you like him! Thanks!

That sucks, too bad. After you get it fixed clean those rims!:) At least I've heard black is an easy color match. Mine's black also.

Yes, I definitely need to clean those rims!
You are right about that! I am glad to hear black is an easy match!
Make me feel a little better!

Bird looks unscathed... fender looks ruffled. From the pics it doesn't look too bad... of course that's because it's not my car, but really I think you will be OK if you get at least three estimates from three reputable body shops. Then talk with each to see exactly what they think needs to be replaced. The one nice thing about the C5 over the C4 is the body panals are much easier to replace, align, and match. Black paint is usually easier to get a perfect match also.

Sorry to see somebody get banged like that, but at least your OK, and may your bird fly over your attacker and release his load.

I don't have a pet bird, but I give many to other drivers though... Whoops, dang I hate it when it does that...;LOL

theblackvette,

You're upset (to say the very least) , very understandable. Don't get superstitious over it though. Your previous thread had nothing to do with it. It can be fixed way good ...once you find the right place.

If it makes you feel any better, I was in a wreck years ago where my BRAND NEW Firebird Formula 400 was UNDERNEATH the trailer of an 18 wheeler while we both were going ~ 60mph down the road. He literally tried to run over me as I tried to pass him on a long straight with NO provocation....none! I got my car fixed like you wouldn't believe, the driver went to jail, and his company's financial statements that year weren't as good as they could have been. Dear Dad got the meanest sum***** of an attorney after them you ever can imagine. Oh gawd did it get ugly. Settlement came fast and big!! Witnesses are a wonderful thing!

The MAIN thing is, I walked away without a scratch and so did you. You can keep us very posted on the progress of your baby. It'll all work out!

OH NO!!! I'm so sorry man. It can be fixed and it sounds like no one was hurt so that's good news. Let me try to display the picture you wanted brought over.

Sorry to hear about the car BV. As others have said at least you are ok. The damage doesn't look bad but I know how you feel. Hopefully you will have it as good as new very soon.

BTW, the bird is awesome. I have an African Grey Congo. He is a nut. His new thing is belching. Yep...a bird that belches.
