It all depends. Look under the hood. Did the fender bolts break off from the fender well cover. If it did both will probably have to be replaced. If the bumper has to be replaced too, your probably looking in the neighborhood of 3K.

I will have to check this one out! I pray that the bolts are not broken!

Thank you all for your comments!!!!!!!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better, just imagine how many times the C5R's have been crunched... and they still look good!

I ding or two builds character on a car (as long is it gets repaired).

Sorry about your bump...but it's minor.... it'll be good as new..... just be happy there was no frame damage!

PS: A car hydroplaned and smacked the side of my Camaro on the highway once in a heavy rainstorm. The damage was much worse than yours there. After a couple weeks in the body shop, after it was finished I took it to a show and won first place. So don't feel like it's the end.

Okay I have the report!
I received several estimates today, ranging between 700 and 850 dollars.
I went witht the most reputable place. It will cost 750 bucks. They say it is not at all bad and nobody would ever be able to tell the fender was struck.

No frame or bolt damage. Just a little straighening out and a little paint and it will be good as new!

Yep, Dave you were absolutely right! Thanks for your insight!

BV, sorry to hear about the damage! Those estimates weren't too bad but I'm sure you had better uses for $750! Are you claiming this on your insurance?
Oh, and by the way, you gotta clean those wheels man! Filthy! At least you must be driving a lot.

No arugument with you that i need to clean my wheels. I guess I sort of gave up on them. It is my daily driver and they get dirty immediately after I wash them. Do you have any suggestions that will help clean them better without spending money (eg getting ceramic brakes)?

Oh no insurance claim will be made at this time.

Regards,

BV

Hey BV I want to apologize for giving you grief (albeit good naturedly) about your wheels. You deserve props for using your Z for a daily driver and yah it's near impossible to keep 'em clean without being out there with a bucket and brush every 2nd or 3rd time you drive the car after washing them.
As far as suggestions, sorry but from what I understand, ceramic pads are the only solution. Are they pricey? I have no idea.
Again, sorry for the dig and I hope all goes well with the repairs and you're back on the road soon!

Hey bud! I never thought about being offended about you talking about my wheels. I thought it was funny for noticing. Also, you knowing the kind of garbage me and a few refugees had dealt with in the past you need to do a bit more to cause me grief. LOL But yeah keeping a black car, especially the wheels clean using it as a daily driver is near impossible! I keep hearing about ceramics, but never hear about a price!

Take care!

Sorry to hear about your car. That sucks. Hopefully it will be fixed soon and you can go out and kill something.

1hot Z06, I am thinking about getting the same wheels you have. Are the rivets a pain in th butt to clean? I have seen another set of black rims, that did not have the rivets. Just trying to decide for myself which ones to get.

UB2SLOW, go for the Motorsports in black. They are so cool!!! I haven't had any problems keeping them clean around the "rivets"... just using my usual gentle wheel cleaner and brushes. They clean up just fine.

Thanks. I think I just made, err you made, my decision.

Damn man - sorry to hear that - at least it was minor from a mechanical perspective - she's gonna be right when it's fixed...

best of luck -

Thanks mqqn!
You always have a way to soothe situations!!!!

Z06 goes into the shop tomorrow for a five day vacation!!!!!

I am gonna miss it!

Well, took the car to the shop today. Also took the car the hit me went to!!!!

I have pics! Check them out.

The Acura sustained more damage than the Z06!

I also included some bonus Prowler pics!
