Well I have found her ...FINALLY!!! :_rock My dream has come true!! Soon I will be bringing home my beautiful Black 1987 coupe!!!! After driving 75 miles ands spending nearly 3 hours with the owner and car I let the butterflys out and slammed down the deposit!!!
The owner was a true Vette enthusiest and took the utmost care of this
beautiful sight for my eyes!!! My Garage is screaming for her!!! I can't pick her up untill the middle of next week so can hardly contain myself.....I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!!!!
So the details : 70k 2nd owner..Immaculate exterior, needs passenger side door strip which he has for me, All Black, grey leather....immaculate showroom interior
the seats have no wear as he covered them when he drove her. Has a K&N filter, superchip, brand new Yokohamas, and some really nice riding rear bilstein shocks. I was so immpressed with the solid ride and I tell you I have never ..never driven a Vette...a C4 that was so Rattle free
and solid!!! The superchip is awesome...she felt super quick on the highway.
I can go on and on about how well the owner kept her!!! The starting price
was $10,5K and after a very short negotiation we agreed on $9600 which I think I ended up on the absolute winning side!!! I know she is an $11k Vette!!!
The owner provided all maint records and an updated carfax . So I look foward to driving her home sometime next week!!! Ill keep everyone posted
and am looking foward to joining in on the Discussion :D :D

Congrats...

Feels good . dont it? Dont forget to wave....Chas:w

Not a heck-uv-a-lot more as far as the body. The Rims are in good condition but 2 have worn center caps . Can I buy them?? I havent looked closely at them, do they pop off ?? I will probably dress up the interior with the sill plate cover and a burlwood dash kit and I may get rid of that pillow and replace it with either the wood dash or the optional leather pocket binder. I really dont want to disturb the Vettes looks. I am not going with any Greenwood body kits or anything like that. Going to keep her pure VETTE!!!:cool
I am looking foward to my first wash n wax!!! I use this stuff called :"SCRATCHCOVER" by KIT, it is awesome on black paint!!! Totally takes out all swirlmarks and haze which this Vette doesnt have, but she deserves the stuff anyway!!! :_rock I will be looking into chroming up the engine compartment area.
As far as performance...are you familiar with the aluminum air intake separator that goes between the air intake box and mounts into the plenum which increases airflow intake??? Supposed to add about 25 horse??
One certain thing will be a Borla exhaust or something similar to make her purrrrr!!! :D :w Now I have been trying to think of some cool or unique
personalized plates for her because it adds to the car at the shows. Ive always wanted "SMOKIN'' but I also was thinking of having my original lic. plate numbers from 20 years ago which were three numbers and three letters which only will have meaning to me. Some may notice but i doubt it. What do ya think????:confused

Congrats on the new purcahse. Make sure you post the pics of it as soon as you can.

Congrats on the new wheels!!!! Since you are in Pt Pleasant NJ you may want to look into a club. I belong to Corvette Express. Check their site www.corvetteexpress.com. We meet once a month in the Marlboro area. If you are not interested mark your calender to have some fun on 8/7. Our club sponsors a show and go at Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ. You can time your car down the track, do some autocross or just show your car. Info is on our club website or www.Racewaypark.com. Hope to see ya down the beach!!!!!! Good luck and congrats!!!!!

Congrats on the new Corvette. I wish I had one for my self.

Congrats, feels great eh.

BTW, don't count on 25hp for.....

Maybe 5-8 at WOT, you will never feel it. But every little bit helps, do a search and read the posts here for ideas.

:_rock IT GIVE YOU FEEE-VAH! Yep. You got the fever!!!! :w Congrats. And I know this'll go to deaf ears, but try not to go coo-coo. Oh, nevermind. Wait 'til your parts mags start coming in! :cool

Just my $0.02 here-
I would suggest that you not be in too big a hurry to start modifying your new ride. It will be more clear after a little while what you might want to do, and it gives you a chence to learn from the experience of others. Performance upgrades are best done from a systems approach. Avoid thinking 'part A =25HP, part B = 10HP, part C =20HP, therefor 55HP total'. That does not happen. There are all kinds of things in the aftermarket. Some are good and some are worse than worthless. I know a guy in my local Corvette Club who has a C5 with a terrible case of aftermarket disease. He bought just about every goodie in the MidAmerica and Ecklers catelogs. Nasty. :eyerole

Congratulations on getting your dream. I know the feeling, got 2 of my dream cars in April and the anticipation of getting them in the garage was just like Christmas (maybe even better). Because I was vetteless for over 10 years. But I'm back now in a big way.Still have my grin and probably always will. you too, I'll bet.

Remember to save the...:w

Congrats on getting the vette. It is very awesome that the previous owner took so much time with you and provided documents. You have a real winner of a car their.

See you on the road

craig

advise well taken!!

:Twist I agree with you. I dont plan on going crazy. Yeah I have Ecklers and MID
catalogs enroute to my home, but I will more likely scour the forum links and Ebay for some of the cosmetics like sill plates and such.
I am not going to change the body at all. The previous owner already tinted out the rear hatch 15% so it looks nice but not to dark . He put in a super/ hyper chip but I am not sure which one...he didnt have to upgrade the thermostat or exhaust so I think it was like the Phase I or II.
I plan on really enjoying my vett, and have the toothbrushes ready for the engine. She is clean but the owner has not really hit the engine compartment with the ole' elbow grease. Thanks for the Info!! :w :Twist

gotta luv those 87 vettes! dump the 16" rims for a used set of 17" rims and it will make the car stand out! i love my 17" rims on my vette. the color and the rims sold the car to me!

wanna know cheap and easy mods just ask or look on my car domain site listed in my sig!
