I Got My New T-Tops Painted!

The paint shop matched the pearl color perfectly. I just have to finish aligning them.

I know that your paint color is probably the toughest color to match. Kudos to your body shop!

Back in 1980, I sold a set like yours to a customer of mine. I think they really look cool. Can't say that I have seen a lot of them. That style is perfect for your ride.

Thanks! I waited a long while before I saw a good pair on Ebay. Then it took the paint shop 3 months to do repairs and get the color right. So, they're fully restored and ready to go. Too bad I just yanked the interior to put new carpet in...

Oh, and if you think the paint shop did a good job on my tops, you should see the '67 Corvette 'vert they just finished. Black w/red stinger and red interior. Perfect, flawless paint job. I'm doing a shoot with Nova and the '67 owner this weekend.

photovette, I don't see the s/s trim on those tops. Did you leave them off, or did that style t-top not have the trim? They look very clean trim delete.

That style did not come with SS trim. I thought about putting it on, but decided it looked better without it--if it even fits. A few other facts, they use the 68-77e T-top weatherstrip (thanks Wilcox!) and the spade brackets are unique to them (and plastic--and were broken)--I managed to get the GM OME ones to work.

It'll be at least another week before it's on the road--have to finish the carpet and install the late C3 seats, CB and scanner.
