I have a problem with my idle once in a while, and it seems to come when I put the air on.
I notice that the car seems to have a very slight miss when driving it, it kinda feels as if the air compresser is turning on and off while driving on the freeway, then when coming to a stop, the idle is high at about 1000 rpm's and it's has a miss.
When I get to my destination, and get ready to drive again, the car seem's to be fine, some times for a while anyway.
No matter what knid of weather that we're having, cool or hot it'll do the same thing.

I just replied to your other post about the regulator before reading this one.
When you turn on the AC it's normal for the idle to rise a bit but 1,000 rpms is obviously way too high. From the sound of your other post it seems you also have the idle problem without the AC on as well ?

Regardless this is where I would start, with the Idle Air Control Motor (IAC) and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).
There is a procedure to reset the min. air. for the IAC. I can't remember exactly what it is offhand, it's been a long time since I've done it, I used to have an L98 car. Maybe someone else can chime in here. You'll need a paper clip to jump two terminals on the ALDL connector.
To adjust the TPS you'll need a voltmeter and jumper wires unless you buy the test tool like this : http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?pf_id=A8906&dept_id=119&mscssid=3WEN245B1NCG8PK1HJ7JED8K18J4B0TF
You can get an inexpensive digital voltmeter at your local parts store for around $15-$20.
The TPS is very easy to check. With the Key ON and Ignition OFF voltage should be at 0.57 closed throttle and go to about 5v with the throttle blades fully open. You should remove the air duct so you can see that the blades are opening all the way.

Also when was the last time the car got a good tune up ?
Plugs, wires, cap & rotor, fuel filter, etc..

No, only when the air is/was on.
I have the voltmeter already and have set all the sensors to spec. (tps is at 54)
Sorry for not being clear on what I was stating here.
