Aloha Sir C-4/5 spec. I know, I know....just when you thought it was safe to......... I have a curious question about my auto trans shifting! I went to the tracks tonight, and noticed that, no matter where I manauly shift my trans at, it wont shift gears untill about 5200 rpm's, I even tried to shift it at 3500 rpm's, just to see what happens, still, 5200 rpm's is where it wants to shift at!! I know that I can get much better times if the trans would only shift where I want it to shift at! Can you help me once again with this problem please? Mahalo again ( Thank You) for putting up with my many question's

HI there,
Your adjustment of your throttle valve cable will be critical to your shift point on your 91.
There are many shift kits available, to firm the actual shift engagement.
Shift points, are only adjustable by the TV cable adjustment. The most accurate way to do this, is to monitor line pressure, and set accordingly.
If you want to attempt this course of action yourself, you will have to have some critical diagrams of the cable itself.
At what rpm would you like your WOT shifts to occur??????

Well may be at about....4500? I think thats where the power curve ends? what would you suggest? I do plan on a fully ported plenum soon when I'm done polishing it? I've adjusted the cable acordingly to the manual, press the button while pulling back on the cable, then go in the car and press the gas all the way to the floor.

HI there,
Your adjustment procedure is correct here.
Although, your torque peak is 3200, so a shift at about 4500 is around the correct area. Although, if you port the runners, or add on aftermarket runners, this will change your torque peak, and thus, your shift points.

So right now, I have the saimese runners on, and as I mentioned earlier, the ported plenum, and gasket matched intake will be going on in a few weeks, will the shifting point that it shifts at right now (5200rpm's) match better, when I install those componments?

Yes, with all your components correctly matched, your shift points at about 5000rpm should be about spot on.
